It’s been seven years since the tragic Las Vegas shooting at the Route 91 Harvest music festival, where a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of a hotel, killing 60 people and injuring hundreds more. Jason Aldean was performing on stage when the shots rang out, and he and his band immediately ran for safety.
Some have criticized Jason for not warning the crowd before running, accusing him of acting selfishly or cowardly. But in a recent episode of his Try That In A Small Town Podcast, Jason expressed how much those comments frustrate him. He explained that at the time, he only knew that something was wrong and he had to get out of the way. “I’m being yelled at in my ears,” he said. “I have no idea what’s happening. No clue.”
Aldean and his bandmates said that since the Vegas shooting, shows have changed to include more protection including SWAT teams. You can find the clip here. (Warning: There is profanity in this clip.)
