Stella G.

Hailing from the heart of the Redwoods in Northern California, Stella recently made her way to Colorado Springs, drawn by the allure of the mountains, the promise of green chile, and, naturally, a vibrant music scene! Always up for an adventure, she’s already fed giraffes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, caught Trace Adkins and Lonestar live at the Colorado State Fair, attempted two escape rooms (we were so close!), and even tried her hand at target shooting at the Ghost Town Museum. This winter, she’s looking forward to exploring even more of what the area has to offer — from hitting the slopes on her snowboard, snapping photos with Santa Claus at the North Pole (you’re never too old!), to making her way to the summit of Pikes Peak.

Although originally from California, she moved to Ohio for kindergarten and later attended Phillips Academy in Massachusetts for high school. For college, she chose the buzz of New York City, graduating from Columbia University with degrees in Art History and Creative Nonfiction Writing. Her passion for travel took her all over, from studying abroad in Spain and Italy to memorable stays in Hong Kong, London, and Paris. Post-college, she lived in Miami and Los Angeles, soaking up different cultures and experiences.

Professionally, Stella focused on writing, contributing to magazines, newspapers, and digital platforms. Her unexpected return to her hometown to reconnect with family brought about a new love: radio. Starting with a School’s Out for Summer! music show she co-hosted with her mom, she eventually became Assistant News Director for the nightly news at KMUD Redwood Community Radio.

Now calling Colorado Springs home, Stella shares her life with her boyfriend and their two beloved rescue dogs — Cosmo, a spunky Yorkie, and Angel, a gentle Rottweiler. Together, they enjoy watching football, going to the movies, and exploring the region on their motorcycle. Stella is happiest when treasure-hunting at thrift shops or enjoying a good cup of coffee while working on a crossword puzzle.
